A part of Victor Mooney's preparation for Goree Challenge II, is the on-going study of nautical charts. Above is a Pilot Chart that shows wind projections. Mooney will have access to this type of chart and a variety of navigational tools while aboard the Spirit of Zayed.

As part of Mooney's preparation for Goree Challenge II, he practices with a sextant which allows him to double-check his readings from a GPS.

At home, Victor Mooney takes measurements from a North Atlantic Ocean Chart. Mooney will have an array of nautical digital and paper charts to assist him in his mission. With his laptop, he'll also receive weather reports via the internet.
